County Schools
ADA Upgrades to Various Facilities
Knoxville, TN
This
multi-phase project involves updating plumbing in many
Knox County schools to better serve students and faculty
by bringing the facilities up to current Americans
with Disabilities Act standards. This includes updating
restrooms to provide handicap access in numerous facilities.
Many of the schools are more than 50 years old, and
one is more than 80 years old. Our engineers designed
and refined the upgrades to best serve the facility
and meet the ADA requirements.

Scott
County Boys & Girls Club
New Facility
Oneida, TN
The
50,000 sq. ft. Scott County Boys and Girls club is
one of the largest in the nation. Built by the Boys
and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley, the facility
contains a gymnasium and large indoor pool as well
as a cafeteria and learning areas for children ranging
in age from kindergarten to teenagers. We designed
large split systems to control the temperature in
each section of the buildings. The outside air is
treated and dehumidified with a central unit, using
excess condenser reheat, prior to being distributed
to each split system. Our engineers always enjoy
working on projects for service organizations such
as this.

4-H Camp
Renovation
Crossville, TN
This
project involves HVAC and plumbing design for the
renovation of the Clyde H. York 4-H camp in Crossville,
TN. Originally known as Camp Crossville, it was a
World War II P.O.W. camp and housed German and Italian
officers from November 1942 until the end of the
war. Portions of the original barracks and a small
museum are on the site today. The 4-H organization
is a youth branch of the Cooperative Extension Service,
a research and education program of the United States
Department of Agriculture. Types of constructions
at this facility include dormitories and residential
facilities for large group retreats. The above photo
shows some of the construction progress on one building
as of January 2004.
