Dolly's
Splash Country
New Construction
Pigeon Forge, TN
Dolly's
Splash Country is one of the largest and most popular
water them parks in the United States. Griffith Engineering
designed the water utilities (water sewer & storm
drainage) for the facility. Our engineers designed the
water system to meet the flow and pressure requirements
for each water slide or feature. The sewer system was
particularly challenging in that a gravity system could
not be used at this location. We designed a sewer lift
station was designed to collect and transport all effluent
to a public system approximately ½ mile from the
facility. Griffith Engineering also provided all the
HVAC and plumbing design for buildings within the park
including restaurants, locker & shower rooms, and
shops.

Parker
Sports Arena
New Construction
Knoxville, TN
The
Parker Sports Arena is a 22,000 sq. ft. indoor sports
facility. The facility is used for a variety of activities
including league and amateur sporting events, team
practices, and special events. The multiple uses
of the building made the design of the mechanical
system an interesting challenge due to the great
variances in people loading on a weekly basis. The
arena also has a refreshment area, locker rooms,
and restroom facilities.

Dollywood
New Constructions, Multiple Phases
Pigeon Forge , TN
Griffith
Engineering has participated in multiple design projects
for Dollywood over the past few years-from cafes to
museums. One of the more challenging and interesting
projects was the design of the Showbird Housing for
the park. The facility provides shelter for the show
birds used in the park. We enjoy designing indoor comfort
systems for unique and challenging projects. Having
designed HVAC systems for chimpanzee housing at zoos
as well as animal shelters for various locations, the
bird housing at Dollywood was another out-of-the-ordinary
project. Adequate ventilation, temperature, and humidity
are critical in these facilities and they often have
stringent requirements to protect animals sensitive
to their environments.
